The Latinx Project is designed to address the civic and social health of the Latinx population in Central Iowa. Over the past 30 years, Iowa has experienced the significant growth of the Latinx community and a rise of new leaders. Yet large economic and social disparities between Latinx and non-Latinx in the state and metro continue to persist. The Latinx Project will systematically and strategically create a baseline of data regarding the community while building support for Latinx organizations and creating collective strength for positive, innovative and integrated change for equitable communities.
