Facilitative leadership around child health and well-being in Iowa

The Child and Policy Center will continue to educate and inform with the goal to build a knowledge and action base improving the health of Iowa children and families and others in need and preventing and mitigating childhood adversity and supporting efforts focused on children’s mental health. CFPC will engage coalitions and influence decision-making and planning related to child health and well-being. CFPC will move efforts ahead to develop and engage Iowa advocates in a shared agenda focused on kids and families.

Kids Action Agenda Planning and Facilitation

A proposed Kids Action Agenda is launching with a November 10th, 2016 gathering of Iowa advocates. The purposes of the November event include:

• Come together and meet as colleagues, share information and dialogue about ways to achieve outcomes for Iowa children and their families.
• Reflect on each other’s policy priorities, map out a frame for seeing our current and emerging connections, and notice where there are shared interests for leveraging.
• Look for opportunities to intentionally align energies and strategies for a common voice, messaging and shared data points on specific topics.
• Form agreements for next actions and continued dialogue
