AMOS Institute of Public Life (AMOS IPL) seeks to secure the full implementation of new children's crisis mental health services in Polk County and ensure diverse community leaders have voice and agency to advocate for accessible and robust children's mental health resources for their families. Through a relational organizing process, AMOS IPL will engage over 500 central Iowans in civic academies to educate about new youth crisis services, listen to understand specific service barriers and gaps in mental health resources, and launch strategic collective action to address the identified health inequities. This work will develop community leaders who can advocate on their own behalf for the mental health of youth, their families, and community in which they're embedded.
