Parent relationships and home environment are key social determinants of children's health. When parents divorce, intense conflict exposes kids to toxic levels of stress that puts them at risk for lifelong health issues. At ICCJ, attorneys elevate children's needs in high-conflict family matters while staff lead children’s divorce workshops. Along with alternative dispute resolution options, these services lessen family conflict, promote resiliency and stabilize the home environment—key factors to reducing adversity. Founded on July 1, 2020, ICCJ aims to accelerate the impact of its former parent organization, Kids First Law Center. The current project focuses on ICCJ's start-up phase: establishing a new organization while providing and expanding the services offered by Kids First.
