Issues in health are vast; cutting across all demographics and intertwined with other socio-determinants of health. With a full-time reporter representing health in the newsroom, Iowa Public Radio is able to collaborate with other reporters and leverage the powers of public media to investigate, inform, and create a public conversation around health in Iowa. The addition of a health reporter to Iowa Public Radio since 2019 has given IPR the ability to strengthen the public’s understanding of health issues and commit to being a vital source for trusted health information for audiences in our community and beyond.
