Building Systems and Communities Responsive to Childhood Trauma

Prevent Child Abuse Iowa’s project will identify and implement effective strategies to engage a wide range of audiences in responding to the Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) Study. The project will expand groundbreaking messaging work underway that engages the broader community – especially in Central Iowa. The project will also support – under the leadership of the Central Iowa ACEs 360 Steering Committee – an ACEs-informed, health-sector approach targeted at pediatric practitioners. Finally, the project will produce an independent evaluation, whose conclusions will be widely disseminated and used to inform future ACes-related efforts.
